It is noted that Rosstat identifies four groups of deaths of persons diagnosed with COVID-19. These are cases in which the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is, for sure or suspected to be the main cause of death; cases where covid became a concomitant disease that accelerated death, as well as situations where COVID-19 was a concomitant disease, but did not become the main cause of death of the patient.

The number of deaths of patients, precisely or presumably caused by covid, according to these data, exceeded 80,000 in November across the country, taking into account the territory of the annexed Crimea.

The total number of deaths recorded in Russia in November 2021 was 257,292.
