In order to benefit half a million small Salvadoran producers of basic grains, the Government of El Salvador, through the Ministry of Agriculture, announced the delivery of agricultural packages.
“This year there are improvements in inputs. The new agricultural packages contain 25 pounds of certified seed, a seed treater to prevent the loss of plants due to attacks by soil or foliage pests,” said the Minister of Agriculture, Oscar Guardado.
The head of Agriculture announced that as of April 28, the delivery of agricultural packages to small producers will begin.
In addition, for the delivery there is the collaboration of the mayors, for this reason more than 250 distribution points will be enabled.
«We have 150 extension workers ready to monitor this year’s planting. We have news, they are being given 25 pounds of H-59 corn, a seed that was produced earlier this year and has a high germination power,” said CENTA director Edgardo Reyes.
