The Street Science Fair, which reaches its eleventh edition, will be held starting this Wednesday in Plaza del Arenal, after 3 years of absence, between May 31, June 1 and 2, 2023. This The event, which will also maintain its virtual format, is organized by the Jerez Teachers’ Center, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training and the Territorial Delegation, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, the Superior Council of Scientific Research, Holcim and the Discover Foundation.
Up to 31 centers in Jerez and other towns in the province participate in this new edition of this fair. Since 2013, the Street Science Fair has been promoting scientific research in educational centers, promoting innovation, cooperative and inclusive methodologies and favoring interest and curiosity for science and technology among students, always with the guidance and essential support from their teachers.
In this event, the participating centers and entities will present experiences on very different topics, including how to improve emotional well-being through experiments that help manage feelings or how to work computational thinking in the classroom with students of all ages.
At the fair there will also be “the rotary machine of flamenco rhythms”, in which music and technology merge, as well as experiences in which the role of women in science is valued. A series of activities will take place in the Science Fair tent, beginning on the 31st at 12 noon, with the inaugural conference entitled ‘Hacking the brain to create a viral video game’.
