The judge from MorelosMartha Magaña López, granted a definitive suspension by means of which he ordered stop indefinitely the legislative process of the reform of the judiciary.

In the resolution issued in favor of 4 judges who promoted an amparo, the justice administrator established that to continue the debatethe Legislative Branch will be in contempt.

In this regard, the judge from Morelos ruled that if the debate on the reform of the Judicial Branch continues, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office will be given notice of the commission of the crime of abuse of authority.

Regarding the reasons for the ruling, he explained that he granted the petition to the complainants because the Chamber of Deputies continued with the debate on the initiative despite the provisional suspension which was previously issued.

Similarly, he reiterated that the president AMLO through the Segob and the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, They did not submit the prior reports that he requested.

For these reasons, he explained, he granted the definitive suspension in order to “make the act they claim not be formalized in the supreme norm”, since if it were to proceed, there would be a possibility that it would be unassailable.

“The above is because if the suspension is denied, at the time of the constitutional reform and the deadlines for the same have been met, the petitioners would be left in a state of defenselessness if they were eventually removed from their positions.”
