According to Russian media, a case may be brought against musician Morgenstern (real name Alisher Valiev) under Article 330.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Failure to fulfill the obligation to submit notification of the presence of citizenship of a foreign state by a citizen of the Russian Federation.”
Two years ago, Alisher received an Israeli passport, which he recently announced in an interview. However, he did not notify the Russian authorities about this. For this, he could face a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles or up to 400 hours of community service.
Let us recall that in April 2022, 24-year-old Russian rapper Morgenstern was spotted in Tel Aviv, where he was filling out documents to obtain Israeli citizenship. During the same period, Russian politician and entrepreneur Sergei Kapkov, Ksenia Sobchak, Alexander Nevzorov, Alla Pugacheva, Maxim Galkin, Semyon Slepakov, Dzhigan and Andrei Makarevich were also spotted in Israel.
In addition, in June of this year, rapper Alisher Morgenstern, recognized in Russia as a foreign agent, reported that he received an Israeli passport two years ago. He explained that he had the right to do so because his grandfather was Jewish. He also noted that he would register his passport upon returning to Russia.
At the same time, Morgenstern stated that he would not return to Russia because of the “evil spirits”, by which he meant people who could put him in prison upon his return. He also expressed bewilderment at the attitude of the Russian authorities towards him and emphasized that he wanted to visit his grandmother.
Earlier, “Cursor” reported that Israeli Avishai Cohen got into a scandal because of a “secret” performance in Russia.
