Móri Wine Region: The harvest dates of the special vintage have been revealed 2024-07-29 10:51:03

by time news

Mór, Pusztávám, Csókakő, Söréd, Csákberény and Zámoly. These six settlements and the vineyards they cultivate make up the historical Móri Wine Region. In the past, almost every settlement in the wine region had its own mountain village, but thanks to the reduction of vineyard areas and changes in the legislative background, there is a mountain village covering the entire area in the Móri wine region. Its members are grape farmers and vineyard owners, and its management is the committee. The latter body recently determined and published the 2024 harvest dates.

From a plant protection point of view, it was not an easy year in the Móri Wine Region, but those who intervened in time can expect good results

Not long ago, it seemed like a long time until the harvest, but an early spring and a hot, dry July accelerated the process.

Ezerjó has never been taken so early

The varieties that were once harvested at the end of September or even in the middle of October can now be picked by farmers even on the first of September. Among them is the flagship wine of Móri Borvidék, Ezerjó, but from the first day of September, the harvest of Zöldveltelini, Kékfrankos, Merlot, Pinot noir and Syrah can also begin.

The latest date is only September 5. On that day, the Italian Riesling, the Rhine Riesling, the Cabernet Franc and the Cabernet Sauvignon can be freed from the burden of the fruit.

The dates are therefore already known, and if the harvest really begins in the week ahead, qualitative and quantitative data on the 2024 vintage can be expected next week.
