Moroccan-Belgian talks on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in security areas (press release)
Rabat – The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, held, on Wednesday in Rabat, a working session with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Justice of Belgium, as well as with the Acting General Administrator of State Security in Belgium, on a working visit to Morocco.
According to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the talks were an opportunity to take stock of cooperation between the two countries in the various security areas of common interest and to examine ways to strengthen and expand it, in order to face the growing challenges and threats linked to terrorism and transnational organized crime.
This meeting, the same source continued, is part of the commitment of the DGSN Pole and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance to strengthen the mechanisms of international security cooperation and the exchange of all information and expertise, capable of neutralizing the dangers of the terrorist threat and dismantling organized crime networks and their transnational ramifications.
According to the statement, the meeting testifies to the place of the Kingdom of Morocco as a strong and strategic partner in regional and international efforts aimed at strengthening security, addressing security challenges and confronting terrorist dangers.
