Moroccan-Emirati relations record a qualitative leap towards better horizons (Academic)

Rabat – Moroccan-Emirati relations are recording a qualitative leap towards better horizons of prosperous and active economic partnership, thanks to the memoranda and the Declaration “Towards an innovative, renewed and rooted partnership”, signed on the occasion of the working and fraternal visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the United Arab Emirates, said Professor Tajeddine Houssaini.

“These relations are now experiencing a decisive turning point towards a deep-rooted partnership, based on innovation and the depth of bilateral ties, going beyond the concept of strategic alliances that Morocco has established with other countries,” Mr. Houssaini explained in a statement to MAP.

This global partnership concerns several aspects of bilateral cooperation, he recalled, noting that the twelve memoranda signed on the occasion of the royal visit give exceptional priority to highly promising investments, mainly covering the areas of infrastructure, water, energy, food security, etc.

The signed memoranda are also likely to strengthen Moroccan-Emirati cooperation in the Afro-Atlantic space, he added.

According to him, the partnerships sealed thus mark a leap forward in the historical relations uniting the two countries since the reign of the late HM King Hassan II and the late HH Sheikh Zayed Ben Soltane Al Nahyan. These relations, he added, have always been based on solidarity, fraternity and convergence of views on regional and international issues.
