Moroccan short films at the third edition of the international festival “Fimto Art” in Cairo

A total of 107 films including 55 short films, 22 mobile films, 20 documentaries and 10 creative video films, were selected for screening by the viewing committee expressing young people’s vision of today’s reality and their ability to use sophisticated artistic techniques.

Moroccan films “L’épouvantail” by director Anas Zemmati and “La trousse” by Karim Assara will be among the 22 films competing for the short film prize, alongside the films “Je suis connu” by director Ramy Mansour (Egypt), “Passé par ici” by director Abdulrahman Adib (Egypt), “Once upon a time in Damascus” by director Alaa Ghara (Syria) and “MalChance” by director Mohsin Nader (Tunisia), indicates a press release from the Festival organizers.

The category of “films made by mobile phones” includes eight films, including the Moroccan film “Assif”, directed by Yassine Ait Fakir, “La parole” directed by Metwaly El Sayed (Egypt), “A la recherche de Sarah” directed by Marwan Salama (Egypt) and “I am honest with you” by Samir Mokhtari (Algeria).

For the documentary film category, this year’s edition, named after the director “Hany Khalifa”, includes 13 films, including “A Stranger in My Home” by Ahmed Saber (Egypt), “Bint Jabal” by Hala Barghazoui (Tunisia) and “Our Mother Eve” by Lama Jamjoom (Saudi Arabia).

The jury for this third edition includes screenwriter and novelist Abderrahim Kamal, director Islam Khairy and director of photography Hussein Asser.
