Morocco: 7.4 million tourist arrivals at the end of June (ministry)

Rabat – Tourist arrivals in Morocco reached 7.4 million people during the first six months of 2024, up 14% compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.

“Moroccan tourism continues its upward trajectory, as evidenced by the exceptional growth in the first half of 2024. The figures speak for themselves: 7.4 million visitors crossed Moroccan borders, representing an increase of 14% compared to 2023 and a spectacular jump of 38% compared to 2019,” the ministry said in a press release.

The craze for the destination “Morocco” exceeds all expectations, notes the same source. While the objectives are one million additional tourists for the entire year of 2024, Morocco has already welcomed 909,000 additional visitors in just six months.

June saw a record arrival of 1.5 million tourists, an increase of 10% compared to 2023, and the summer season looks just as promising.

In this context, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, stressed that Morocco’s influence on the international tourism scene is undeniable.

And to support: “The unique assets of our country combined with the implementation of our roadmap are bearing fruit. Our objective of 17.5 million tourists is closer than ever.”
