“It is a great pleasure for me to be here in Morocco, a great football country which has a driving role to play for the development of football on the continent,” the FIFA president told the press. his arrival at Rabat-Salé airport.

“This working visit is an opportunity to discuss several subjects, notably the future of Moroccan and African football,” he noted.

“I have come to Morocco several times and I have been able to see not only the passion for football, but also the seriousness of the work carried out by the Federation,” he said, stressing that “this visit will also allow us to “review ways to make this work more fruitful and to allow African countries and other countries around the world to benefit from the Mohammed VI Football Center and the existing sports infrastructure in Morocco.”

According to the FIFA President, several football development projects and programs will be discussed during this visit, particularly relating to youth and women’s football, among others.

“We will certainly leave here with a lot of ideas and programs on football,” he concluded.

On his arrival at Rabat-Salé airport, Mr. Infantino was welcomed by the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa.

This visit is part of the consolidation of the strong existing relations between FIFA and those responsible for the FRMF. It also aims to develop cooperation between the two authorities in terms of promoting national and continental football.

The elective general assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will be held on March 12 in Rabat.
