Speaking at a press conference following the opening of the Ministerial Segment of the High-Level Conference on Middle-Income Countries, Ms. J. Mohammed indicated that Morocco has made great achievements in this domain, through the strengthening of investments in climate initiatives, calling for the generalization of the Moroccan experience on the African continent to seize the resulting opportunities and meet the development challenges.

In this regard, the Deputy Secretary General of the UN highlighted the flexibility of the Moroccan economy and its response to global economic and geopolitical crises, welcoming Morocco’s active role in partnerships aimed at the development of high-income countries. intermediate.

She noted, in this sense, that the High-level Conference that the Kingdom is hosting offers a space for discussion on the most important financing issues which complicate the economic situation of middle-income countries, emphasizing the need to combine efforts to these countries and strengthen their partnerships to serve “the enormous and pressing development needs”.

The work of the Ministerial Segment of the High-Level Conference on Middle-Income Countries opened on Tuesday in Rabat, with the participation of 32 countries and 23 United Nations development agencies and other international and regional institutions.

Placed under the theme “Solutions to the development challenges of middle-income countries in a changing world”, this High-Level Ministerial Conference is part of the presidency of the Kingdom of Morocco of the Group of Friends of Middle-Income Countries within the framework of the United Nations, which he has held since 2023, and in the continuity of his advocacy in favor of the interests of developing countries, under the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in favor of an active and united.
