Morocco, a ”modern and prosperous state”, under the leadership of HM the King (Spanish academic)
Madrid – Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco is a “modern and prosperous state,” stressed the professor of constitutional law at the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville, Héctor Álvarez García.
The progress made by the Kingdom is the result of “a policy of reforms aimed at consolidating democracy and guaranteeing human rights and the well-being of citizens,” added the Spanish academic in a column published by the newspaper La Razon.
Mr. Álvarez García placed particular emphasis on the diplomatic action of the Kingdom, stressing “the broad support” of the international community for the Moroccan plan for autonomy in the Sahara, which constitutes the only “serious, realistic and credible” solution to end this conflict within the framework of the territorial integrity of Morocco.
He also highlighted the Kingdom’s “exceptional contribution” to peace and security in Africa and Europe, thanks to its “soft power”.
The Spanish academic noted, in the same vein, that the Sovereign has launched a comprehensive program of social and democratic reforms, stressing that the progress made in the Kingdom affects several economic and social areas.
It is clear that in the coming years, the Kingdom’s action, inscribed in multilateralism, international cooperation and South-South partnership, will continue to bear fruit, noted Mr. Álvarez García.
