Morocco/Burkina Faso: The Government Council is informed of an agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters
Rabat – The Government Council, meeting Thursday in Rabat under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, was informed of an agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters between the government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the government of Burkina Faso, signed on June 9 in Dakhla, as well as draft law No. 37.23 under which it approves the said agreement.
The agreement and the draft law were presented by the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
During a press conference following the Government Council, Mr. Baitas indicated that this agreement aims to establish effective cooperation between the customs administrations of the two countries, through the sharing of administrative assistance in customs matters, in accordance with the conditions specified in the agreement.
The aim is also an adequate application of customs legislation, the prevention, investigation and repression of customs offences, as well as ensuring the security of the international trade supply chain, he added, noting that this agreement does not aim at amending the conventions signed between the two countries in the area of legal assistance.
