Signed on the Moroccan side by the Secretary General of the Ibn Sina University Hospital, Abdelhamid Ouaqouaq, this agreement, which is part of the government agreements between Morocco and Burundi in the health sector, mainly aims at sharing scientific knowledge, training and the exchange of experiences.

The purpose of the agreement is to exchange experiences and strengthen the skills of Burundian University Hospital staff, said Mr. Ouaqouaq.

Under this partnership, which focuses on the development of opportunities offered by scientific research and the exchange of information and documentation, the Ibn Sina University Hospital will welcome interns from the Kamenge University Hospital and also undertakes to share its experience in order to succeed in this cooperation aimed at the development of human capital in this field of activity.

This exchange will involve sending Moroccan experts to Burundi and hosting interns at the Rabat University Hospital, said Mr. Ouaqouaq, noting that the first year’s action plan focuses on oncology, medical imaging and hospital management.

The Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat signed, on September 14 in Kigali, two framework partnership agreements with the University Hospital and the “King Faisal” hospital in the Rwandan capital, within the framework of government agreements in the field of health between the two countries. The two agreements cover different aspects of cooperation, including the sharing of scientific knowledge, training and the exchange of experiences.

The first memorandum of understanding concerns the development of opportunities offered by scientific research and the exchange of information and documentation in all sectors of activity, while the second concerns different areas of cooperation, including the upgrading of medical professional skills and the development of certain hospital disciplines.
