Morocco has acquired the Chinese HJ-9A portable anti-tank missile system, also known as Red Arrow 9A, with which it seeks to modernize the defense systems of the Moroccan Armed Forces.
These new weapons have been shown during the celebrations of the 67th anniversary of the foundation of the Moroccan Armed Forces, according to the Moroccan news portal Hespress.
These missiles are designed to fire against static or mobile targets such as armored vehicles or tanks and have a range of more than 6 kilometers. It can be shot by a single individual or can also be mounted on a vehicle or tripod.
This model began to be used in China in 2005 and has the capacity to penetrate armor of up to 1.2 meters thanks to its tandem load and a radar that uses millimeter waves to improve aiming. The new Chinese projectiles are similar to the American TOW system, the Ukrainian SKIF, the Russian KORNET or the Israeli SPRIK.
