Morocco-China: signing of the executive cultural cooperation program 2024-2028

Initialed by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, and the Chinese Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism, Rao Quan, this program aims to strengthen cultural exchanges, encourage bilateral visits and create initiatives and cooperation frameworks to promote the cultures of the two countries.

It also focuses on strengthening coordination and cooperation at the level of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the exchange of expertise and continuing training.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Bensaid indicated that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of China share a long and common history, noting that this new cultural cooperation program aims to establish culture as a lever capable of consolidating “the efforts undertaken on the political and economic levels” to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.

In this context, he highlighted the importance of working to raise awareness of the different components of Moroccan and Chinese cultures, particularly through the exchange of cultural activities, and through television channels and cinema. .

Culture constitutes a “soft skill” to be seized to bring together the Moroccan and Chinese people, argued Mr. Bensaid, calling for the consolidation of the Moroccan presence in China, through the promotion of artistic and cinematographic works and joint actions.

For his part, Mr. Rao Quan expressed his department’s determination to work to consolidate exchanges and cooperation between Morocco and China in the field of culture.

In this regard, he welcomed the dynamic of cooperation between the two countries in areas linked to youth, the arts, artistic exchange, cultural heritage and training.
