The Football Federation of the African country has issued a statement to make it clear that it respects that the Barça striker has chosen to play for the Spanish team.

Morocco has denied through a statement that it has offered money to Lamine Yamal to agree to play for its national team and respects the FC Barcelona forward’s decision to do so with Spain.
“The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) categorically denies the false information published in the Spanish sports newspaper AS in its edition of Tuesday, October 10, 2023,” reads the statement.

In the aforementioned article it is stated that Lamine Yamal received pressure and offers of money to decide to play for Morocco, his father’s country of origin, although the 16-year-old young player was born in Catalonia.
Likewise, the FRMF argues that this information “is not based on any evidence, since we have respected the decisions of the player Lamine Yamal, as well as those of other players of Moroccan origin who chose other teams.”
