SIt continues to be an African Cup full of surprises. Morocco ‘flawed’ on the second day against the DR Congo in a match where the Central Africans deserved something more due to their good second half.
Morocco was one of the sensations at the start of the African Cup… but against the Democratic Republic of the Congo they had to suffer. And Regragui’s team started well. After six minutes, they were already winning 1-0 with a goal from Achraf who is always the leader in the ‘Atlas Lions’.
However, the Central Africans reacted well and got into the game early. There was a penalty for handball in the Moroccan area… but, after many minutes of review, Bakambu sent it to the post.
The second half, however, was entirely Sebastien Desabre’s side. And the tying goal arrived. Silas scored shortly after entering the field after a good play on the right side by Elia, who had also entered the second part. The bench was unbalanced in favor of the DR Congo.
This tie is not a drama for Morocco, far from it. They remain group leaders alone in the absence of what happens in Zambia – Tanzania, which closes the second date of the group.
