The Moroccan authorities have arrested 152 people for leading illegal immigration in relation to new attempts to enter the autonomous city of Ceuta, explained the spokesman for the Government of Morocco, Mustafa Baitas, who has noted the importance of social networks.

“Some young people are provoked by foreigners who use social networks to mobilize them,” he said in a statement after the meeting of the Council of Ministers. According to the official version, obtained by the MAP agency, almost 3,000 people were intercepted in Castillejos area on September 15, when there was a great attempt to enter Ceuta.

Baitas has highlighted the work of the security forces, stressing that “above all, they ensure the safety of those who want to leave illegally.” In this sense, he emphasized during his appearance that no one died in these activities.

The spokesperson has regretted in any case all these events and has emphasized that migration is “a current and frequent problem in many countries”, after this week part of the Moroccan account shamed the government of Aziz Ajanuch for his silence new events and the lack of measures to address the needs of young people.
