Morocco-Ivory Coast: examining ways to strengthen trade relations

Rabat – The means of strengthening economic and commercial cooperation between Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire were at the center of discussions, Friday in Rabat, between the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, and the Ivorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Ivorians Abroad, Kacou Houadja Léon Adom.

The two ministers stressed the importance of diversifying trade, as well as the crucial role of Moroccan investments in Ivorian economic development.

On this occasion, Mr. Mezzour emphasized the strengthening and development of economic relations based on friendship and fraternity between the two countries, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions aimed at consolidating commercial and economic ties with African countries.

Stressing the need to develop trade and the volume of investments, the minister specified that Côte d’Ivoire has important raw materials of great value for Morocco, which are essential to integrate and optimize its production chain.

Products manufactured in Côte d’Ivoire will be exported via the Moroccan industrial platform, he added, encouraging Moroccan investors to strengthen Morocco’s industrial sovereignty.

For his part, Mr. Adom indicated that this meeting focused on economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries, with particular emphasis on ways to improve these relations in a progressive and balanced manner.

Furthermore, he highlighted the Moroccan technological offer and the investment opportunities that Morocco offers, while expressing his certainty that these commercial exchanges will further strengthen the historical and friendly relations between the two countries.
