Morocco, one of the best destinations to admire snowy landscapes in Africa (South African newspaper)
Johannesburg – Morocco is one of the best tourist destinations to discover and admire the beauty of snow-capped landscapes in Africa, the South African newspaper “Independent Online” reported on Friday.
“While Africa, with its diverse landscapes, is known for its sunshine, some places experience freezing temperatures and snow in winter,” the media outlet stressed, emphasizing the importance of highlighting the diversity of the continent’s tourism offering.
He pointed out that the Oukaïmden ski resort, located in the Atlas mountain range, near the Toubkal mountain (80 km southeast of Marrakech), embodies the varied tourist offer that Morocco enjoys.
“This high-altitude region is the snowiest part of Morocco, a country that also has desert landscapes,” the newspaper adds, noting that Oukaïmeden enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and long, cold winters, marked by intense snowfall.
Noting that hotel facilities and ski rental centres are available nearby, the media outlet notes that the best time to visit this region is from December to April, during the winter in the northern hemisphere.
