Signed by the Director General of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, and the CEO of TripAdvisor, Inc, Matt Goldberg, at Tripadvisor headquarters, this unprecedented 5-year partnership with quantified annual deadlines covers ten tourist seasons, from summer 2024 to winter 2029, the Office said in a press release, noting that this is a first which gives a new dynamic to the tourism promotion of Morocco thanks to the power of the platform.
The long-term objective is to double overnight stays from the TripAdvisor platform to Morocco at the end of the 5th year, with constant annual growth of 15%. In figures, this partnership will make it possible to go from the current 2.6 million nights to 5.3 million in 2029, specifies the ONMT.
The source markets remain France, the United Kingdom, the Iberian market, North America, the Nordic countries, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, the Gulf countries… with, in addition, , the introduction of new transmitter basins over the seasons.
This partnership will also allow the strengthening and consolidation of the positioning of the Morocco destination through a sophisticated and targeted marketing system providing for content creation, influencer marketing, awareness campaigns, conversion campaigns, etc. also relying on the commercial strength of the partner’s platform.
Until now, the ONMT only carried out annual or seasonal contracts with the giant Tripadvisor. This is the first time that the Office has started a 5-year collaboration with a gradual schedule.
Note that with more than 436 million unique visitors each month, 20 million registered members and more than 859 million reviews and opinions, the weight of Tripadvisor on the market of community travel sites, reviews and rating is undeniable.
