During a visit to the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat in the company of the president of the National Foundation of Museums (FNM), Mehdi Qotbi and the president of the Morocco-France friendship group of the House of Advisors, Mohamed Zidouh, Mr. Cambon explained that “the Kingdom has implemented a cultural policy open not only to its own culture but also to that of neighboring countries.”

He also expressed, in a statement to MAP, his joy at returning to Morocco and making this official visit in the company of his colleagues in the Senate, hoping that “this visit will strengthen the Franco-Moroccan friendly relations to which I have been particularly attached for a long time.”

“At a time when clouds sometimes pass, it is good to come together on themes that are a consensus, particularly art and culture. We will show with my Moroccan counterpart that after the clouds, good weather returns very quickly,” he stressed.

For his part, the president of the FNM explained to MAP that “culture represents a strong bond of friendship and an essential and indestructible element that unites people.”

Mr. Qotbi further stressed that “thanks to the foresight and vision of HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco is experiencing national, international and continental cultural development,” adding that “today, the Kingdom also has this understanding of the African language.”

In this sense, he called on France to “build on this African opening”.

This visit to the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat was also an opportunity for the France-Morocco inter-parliamentary friendship group in the Senate to discuss with Mr. Qotbi the different cultural aspects of the country and the various exhibitions currently being organized in the Kingdom’s museums.
