Ines Joly, riding the horse “Pegasus Bandit Savoie”, won the title of this great competition, organized by the Morocco Royal Tour Foundation, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, by winning after a decisive jump-off that she completed without a fault in a time of 51 sec 14/100th.
Second place went to Saudi rider Khaled Almobty, riding “Spacecake”, after a decisive jump-off that he also completed without fault in a time of 51.44 seconds, while the Spanish Teresa Blazquez – Abascal, riding “Nasa de Toxandria”, completed the podium (52:31).
French rider Charles Henri Ferme, riding “Bellini Dufaure de L”, came fourth, with a time of 52 sec 86/100th, followed by Italian rider Filippo Bassan, riding “Cerruti de Kreisker” (53 sec 68/100th).
In a statement to MAP, Ines Joly expressed her joy at winning the first 4-star (4*) prize of her career during her second participation in a competition in Morocco, describing her participation as “an incredible experience that allowed her to gain more confidence during the race thanks to the encouragement of the public”.
The rider also indicated that she will participate in the two remaining stages of the Competition in Rabat and El Jadida to gain more experience, affirming her desire to maintain the same level of competitiveness during the next stages.
At the end of this major sporting event, the president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, presented the prizes and medals to the winners in the different categories, in the presence of Major General Abdelaziz Chater, Commander of the Royal Guard, the Wali of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, Younes Tazi, and other personalities.
It should be noted that this first stage of the 13th edition of the “Morocco Royal Tour”, held from September 19 to 22, saw the participation of several Moroccan and foreign riders in 13 events, including 7 of 4 stars (4*).
The Morocco Royal Tour takes place over three stages over three weeks, at three equestrian sites in Tetouan, Rabat and El Jadida.
Created in 2010 on high royal instructions, the Morocco Royal Tour Foundation, composed of three key members such as the Royal Guard, the FRMSE and the Salon du Cheval association, and chaired by Prince Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, organizes a first-rate circuit recognized by horse professionals, confirming its place as a major competition in the world equestrian calendar, under the aegis of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
