Morocco Showcases Innovative Design at International Fair in Padua, Italy

Since last Thursday, a major international fair dedicated to architecture and furniture design has been held in the Italian city of Padua in which Morocco is participating.

On July 11th and 12th an event dedicated to the world of architecture takes place in Padua. Design and furnishingsOrganised by Padova Spa Fair and Medinit Company with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ITA Italian Trade Agency.

ITA Casablanca – The Section for the Promotion of Trade of the Italian Embassy invited a delegation of Moroccan professionals to the Made in Italy design industry by organizing the “LabInnova” training program and business meetings at the World Architecture Fair Africa.

This fourth edition has once again sealed the ties that link Italy with 14 African countries (53 guests), among which Morocco was particularly well represented with 14 active participants in the field of architecture and interior design.

Mohamed Sami Ben Jelloul, Business Analyst Office ITA Casablancaas part of the promotion of commercial exchanges between Italy and Morocco, a delegation composed of architects, chaired by Mohamed Karim Sbai of the National Order of Architects Centre Region, representing groups such as Ceramica Italiana, Interlux, Primarios and Trarem, attended the event, truly showcasing the best in Italian-Moroccan design and interior architecture.

The opening of this exhibition, supported by Alessandra Pastorelli, Advisor to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also included the presence of Ms. Ouafa Zahi, Consul General of Morocco in Verona. During her opening remarks at the show, Ms. Zahi particularly mentioned the strength of the strategic partnership between Morocco and Italy and the favorable economic climate for investments, from which Morocco benefits today.

Indeed, according to Istat, furniture exports from Italy, the world leader in the furniture and design sectors, to Morocco amount to around 5.6 million euros, a significant increase of 45.7% compared to the year 2021. They reflect the strength of the trade. And it is part of the tradition that both countries, beyond the economic situation, are strengthening day by day. As Mohamed Sami Ben Jelloul underlines, Morocco’s presence at this Padua exhibition shows the sustainability of an exemplary partnership and constitutes a model.
