Mr. Juillet, who was leading a conference on “The place of the Kingdom of Morocco on the world stage”, described as a “stroke of genius” the approach that Morocco has adopted in its relations with the African continent, as evidenced by the multiple Moroccan projects and investments launched in Africa thanks to the numerous visits made by HM King Mohammed VI, since his enthronement.
In this context, he cited large-scale projects, such as the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline and the Atlantic Initiative, but also projects in the banking and telecommunications sectors, considering that “all this positions Morocco as a country that brings back major projects and major innovations.”
For Mr. Juillet, who was also in charge of economic intelligence for the former Prime Minister, François Fillon, Morocco understood early on the changes taking place at the global level and is “in the process of positioning itself in this global competition and this new global chessboard.”
“Morocco is adopting a strategy that corresponds to the awareness that the world has changed and is no longer exclusively European-American,” he noted.
Regarding Moroccan-French relations, the French expert noted, in a statement to MAP, that the two countries are “traditional allies forever.”
“We have always had privileged relations with Morocco,” he recalled.
In Mr. Juillet’s opinion, all events confirm the need to further develop relations with Morocco, saying he is “optimistic about the future, because it is in the general interest.”
