Morocco, under the leadership of HM the King, a “key partner” of South America in Africa (Former Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs)

Panama City, – The Kingdom of Morocco, under the clear-sighted leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, is positioning itself as “a key partner” of South American and Caribbean countries in Africa, stressed former Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Janaina Tewaney Mencomo.

“The major advances made on the economic and social levels have made Morocco a leading player in the African continent and a key partner for the countries of South America,” said Ms. Mencomo in a statement to MAP on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day.

The modernist Royal Vision and the multidimensional development strategy deployed by Morocco under the leadership of the Sovereign have enabled the Kingdom to consolidate its stature on a regional and international scale, she said.

The former head of Panamanian diplomacy recalled that the historic tour of His Majesty the King to several countries in the region in 2004 “opened promising prospects for cooperation and partnership between the two parties, within the framework of a fruitful and mutually beneficial South-South relationship.”

She also specified that the Atlantic Initiative of His Majesty the King illustrates the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening transatlantic relations between Africa and Latin America, which offer countless resources and opportunities.

In this regard, Ms. Mencomo noted that her country’s strategic position in the Caribbean offers promising prospects for partnership with Morocco, which positions itself as a bridge between Latin America, Africa, Europe and other regions of the world.
