Morocco vigorously condemns the Israeli incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque which “undermine appeasement efforts in Gaza” (Mr. Bourita)
Rabat – The Kingdom of Morocco vigorously condemns the Israeli incursions into the Al Aqsa Mosque, said Friday in Rabat the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, stressing that these provocations exacerbate the tensions and “undermine the efforts to appease the Gaza Strip” and all efforts deployed for a ceasefire, the protection of civilians and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
In response to a question about the situation in the Al-Aqsa Mosque during a press briefing held following his talks with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira, the minister stressed that “the Kingdom of Morocco condemns firmly the authorization by the Israeli authorities of the Flag March in occupied Al-Quds, and what results from it in terms of restrictions of access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque imposed on the faithful”, noting that Morocco categorically rejects the incursion of Israeli government officials and members of the Knesset onto the Mosque esplanade.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, has repeatedly vigorously denounced this type of provocation which occurs while the Israeli aggression in Gaza continues, causing numerous victims among civilians, recalled the minister.
The Kingdom of Morocco, he continued, “strongly rejects” the Israeli incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, urges the Israeli authorities to take the necessary measures to ensure that such acts do not happen again, and calls on the community international community, including the UN Security Council and the acting powers, to protect the Al Aqsa Mosque and places of worship of Muslims in the city of Al-Quds.
