Rabat – The government notes⁢ with satisfaction Morocco’s progression of three points, in one fell swoop, in the ​Human Development Index‍ (HDI) published ‍by the United Nations, said ⁤Thursday ⁣the Minister responsible for ⁢Relations with Parliament , government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, describing this performance as “very positive”.

Asked ‌about this ⁤performance on Thursday during ⁢a press briefing following the Governing Council, Mr. Baitas stressed that the government is fully committed to this long​ process and intends ⁤to move forward ‍until‍ the achievement of the ranking that Morocco ‍deserves in this area.

He stressed that public policies and the various social programs undertaken by⁣ the government, following‌ the ‌High directives of‌ His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in particular the social support projects and⁢ those relating to health and ⁣education, begin today to deliver their results.

Published by the United Nations Development Program, the latest Global Human Development ​Report 2023/2024 revealed‌ that Morocco moved up three places in the HDI ranking, going from 123rd ⁣to 120th.

The Global Human Development Report also highlighted the Kingdom’s continued efforts to address gender-based disparities, ⁢emphasizing both⁤ the need to continue facilitating women’s‍ access to education, health and opportunities for economic integration.
