For the second year in a row, Moscow ranks fourth in the international rating of The World’s 100 Best Cities. The top three are London, Paris and New York.

Top 5 best cities:

  • London,
  • Paris,
  • New York,
  • Moscow,
  • Dubai.

The leader of the ranking has not changed since 2020, Paris and New York have changed places, and Dubai has risen from eighth to fifth, displacing Tokyo from this position.

Moscow has become the leader in the rating in the “Product” category due to its infrastructure, air connections and the number of attractions. The Russian capital also took second place in the ranking in the “Location” category (for a high level of safety and availability of quality parks) and fifth in the “Leisure” category. In terms of education level of the population, the city became the third after London and St. Petersburg.

“This year, Moscow has significantly strengthened its position in the Economic Prosperity group of indicators, demonstrating growth from 64th to 25th place. The assessment was made on the basis of a number of economic indicators, including the unemployment rate and GRP per capita. Let me remind you that the registered unemployment rate in Moscow is now 0.51%, which is the lowest level since April last year, ”said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations (quoted from the Moscow Mayor’s website).

The World’s 100 Best Cities rating has been compiled since 2016 by the international consulting company Resonance Consultancy. Places are allocated taking into account the attractiveness of cities for tourism, living and doing business based on statistics, feedback from the business community, industry experts and tourists.
