Moscow authorities assessed the shortage of labor migrants

by time news

The deficit of labor migrants in Moscow is about 200 thousand people, vice-mayor of Moscow Vladimir Efimov said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

“This problem remains, today Moscow lacks about 200 thousand migrants. And we hope that in the near future the restrictions on their entry into the country will be eased. Lack of labor resources leads to the fact that employers, primarily developers, outbid employees from each other, which increases the cost of their services, “- said Efimov.

Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper reported that restaurateurs suggested that the authorities give employers the right to handle the registration of work permits and patents for migrants themselves and pay these costs in order to solve the problem of staff shortages. The association also proposed to allow the recruitment of migrants before the completion of the registration of permits. At the same time, employers will transfer a security deposit to the budget, which will be returned after the employee receives all documents.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov replied that it was premature to talk about changing the rules for the entry of migrants into Russia. The problem of migrants, he said, is relevant for catering, construction and other sectors of the economy, it is being discussed in the government.
