The Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Alexei Shaposhnikov shared with REN TV his opinion on how the elections to the State Duma in 2021 are unique.

According to him, the remote electronic voting (DEG) system was tested seven times and each time the results showed sustainable development.

Shaposhnikov stressed that in Moscow the system was operating normally and at the same time at full load.

He recalled that in the capital, the current elections were held at three levels at once: municipal (in Shchukino), federal (to the State Duma), as well as by-elections to the Moscow City Duma in two constituencies.

And at the same time, according to Shaposhnikov, there were no failures, despite the large number of DDoS attacks.

“Once again, the Moscow system of remote electronic voting has shown its effectiveness and its good work,” the TV channel quotes the words of the chairman of the Moscow City Duma on Monday, September 20.

Earlier that day, the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, called the allegations of allegedly existing plans to postpone the summing up of the results of remote electronic voting in the elections to the State Duma in Moscow as a “canard”. According to her, the results will be presented in the coming hours. In addition, she promised that the department will find out the reasons for the delay in publication.

According to Alena Bulgakova, executive director of the Independent Public Monitoring (NOM), member of the Public Chamber of Russia, during the voting in the elections to the State Duma, DDoS attacks from Germany, the USA and Ukraine were recorded.

In 2021, elections to the State Duma were held for the first time in a new, three-day format. September 19 was the main voting day, and September 17 and 18 were additional.

After processing more than 45% of the protocols, the United Russia party leads with 45.71% of the votes. In second place is the Communist Party of the Russian Federation with 21.58%, followed by the Liberal Democratic Party (8.16%), as well as the parties “Fair Russia – for the Truth” (7.61%) and “New People” (6.07%).
