Moscow court arrests Group-IB founder Sachkov in treason case

Moscow’s Lefortovo court arrested the founder of Group-IB, Ilya Sachkov, for two months. He is accused of high treason, writes Forbes.

“With regard to Ilya Konstantinovich Sachkov, suspected of committing a crime under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention for a period of 01 month 30 days, that is, until November 27, 2021, “the court said.

Earlier today, searches were carried out at the Group-IB office in Moscow. Sources of RTVI in law enforcement agencies reported that the day before, on the morning of September 28, Sachkov was detained.

Group-IB is one of the leading Russian and global cybersecurity companies. In 2018, the company opened its headquarters in Singapore, although most of its products are still being developed in Russia. According to the interlocutor of RTVI, Sachkov spends most of his time in Singapore.
