Moscow resolved the issue of passes for the freight transport of retailers

The Association of Retail Companies (AKORT) and the Moscow government have resolved the main issues of using the system for obtaining passes for freight transport serving retail chains included in AKORT, the press service of the association reported.

“Thanks to active joint work and cooperation between the Moscow government and AKORT, all the main issues of using the system for obtaining passes by retail chains – members of AKORT have been resolved,” the statement says.

AKORT recalled that from June 15 in Moscow, restrictions are imposed on trucks weighing 3.5 tons or more for movement within the Moscow Ring Road. At the same time, such transport carries out a significant part of the transportation of goods for retail outlets from distribution centers or from suppliers. Thus, the decisions made by the capital’s government had a significant impact on the logistics of the largest federal retail chains in the region.

Earlier, the newspaper “Kommersant”, citing a source among manufacturers, reported on the difficulties that had begun with the delivery of food to Moscow due to the entry into force of new rules for the movement of trucks. In particular, there were problems with the availability of transport, which made it difficult to guarantee deliveries on time. Lenta confirmed that contractors are notifying of possible delays, VkusVilla also received messages from transport companies about difficulties in obtaining new passes, especially night passes.
