Moscow reveals Biden’s quest to control Telegram

by times news cr

Moscow revealed that US President Joe Biden “intends to take control of the Telegram application before the elections scheduled for next November.”

“Telegram is one of the few and at the same time the largest Internet platforms that the United States has no influence on, and at the same time, it operates in many countries that interest it. On the eve of the US presidential election, it is important for Biden to control it,” said Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma.

“For the United States, surveillance of social networks, total censorship and subordination are traditional methods of political control and external influence. Thus, through France, they are trying to accuse Pavel Durov of more than 10 crimes and thus control the network,” Volodin noted.

“The countries where Telegram operates and is actively developing need to understand the essence of what is happening and decide for themselves whether they want Washington to also control this platform, or whether its work should not be regulated in accordance with the political interests of the United States,” he added.

The French authorities arrested the founder of the Telegram application, Pavel Durov, at Le Bourget Airport in Paris a few days ago. According to French media, the French judiciary believes that “there are reasons, including Telegram’s refusal to cooperate with the country’s authorities, that make Durov involved in a number of crimes.”
