Education in Moscow universities and colleges during non-working days will be held in a distance format, RIA Novosti reports, citing the press service of the Moscow Department of Education and Science.

“Training of college and university students during this period will be organized using e-learning and distance learning technologies,” the department said.

On October 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing non-working days throughout the country in the period from October 30 to November 7 inclusive, with the preservation of salaries for employees to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. It was noted that, if necessary, the regional authorities can extend this measure or implement it earlier – from October 23rd.

In Moscow, non-working days will begin earlier – on October 28. During this period, restrictions will apply in the capital – in particular, trade, catering, sports, entertainment and recreation enterprises, cinemas will temporarily stop working. Holidays will be announced in schools and kindergartens. Also, the Moscow authorities are introducing a requirement to present QR codes for visiting theaters, museums, concerts, cultural and entertainment events.
