Moscow’s middle class is packing their bags – Russia

Galina is in despair, her son Vyacheslav is gone. “We have moved to Dubai,” he wrote via Whatsapp on Thursday morning. They left the country with his wife Svetlana and their five-year-old son Danil. Svetlana works for a western company that has closed its shops in Russia. The company promised employees help in finding new jobs. “But first we’ll wait here,” says Vyacheslav. His voice on the phone sounds hoarse. “I probably got infected with Danil, but maybe it’s something to do with my nerves,” says the 36-year-old.
