Acceptance of applications from private houses ended on September 15, and the municipality received a total of 395 applications. The commission established by the municipality has surveyed most of the properties, and for 60 of them, a decision has already been made on the allocation of one-time support and its amount for housing repairs. It was transferred to the credit institution account specified by the owner.
The amount of benefits paid is from 60 to a maximum of 3,000 euros. For the majority, the benefit was paid in the maximum amount – 3,000 euros. In only one case, the amount of the benefit was 60 euros – the facade of a house had damaged plaster covering an area of three square meters.
Currently, the commission established by the municipality, after communicating in advance and coordinating the time with each applicant, continues the housing survey. It is planned to last the whole of October, but benefits for individual housing will be paid until the end of November.
Applications are still being accepted today and tomorrow for storm and flood damage from apartment buildings for damage to common areas.
Until last week, the municipality had received more than 20 submissions from apartment buildings about damage to common areas. As soon as the acceptance of applications is finished, the commission established by the municipality will also start examining applications for apartment buildings in order to be able to make a decision on granting support. Apartment owners of multi-apartment buildings can apply for support, which is set at the amount of 20 euros per square meter of renovated area, for damages caused in common areas.
At the October council meeting, the deputies will look at amendments to the city budget, where, among other things, it is expected to approve the necessary funding for the payment of support to residents for houses damaged by floods and storms. For this purpose, 825,000 euros have been allocated in the budget amendments. Initially, support is provided to citizens from the funds of the local government, in order to then apply for co-financing from the state budget in the amount of the specified percentage to cover these expenses.
It has already been reported that according to the informative report approved at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development (VARAM) recommends that local governments provide support of up to 20 euros per square meter for the reconstruction of housing affected by the July storm and floods.
VARAM recommends that local governments, when providing support for the liquidation of the consequences of a storm, apply the approach that support for the liquidation of the consequences of an emergency situation should be granted both to the infrastructure objects owned by the municipalities and to the reconstruction of residential houses affected by the respective storm. Among them, support for individual residential houses is intended as a one-time support of up to 3,000 euros with the additional condition that the amount of support does not exceed 20 euros per square meter of the renovated area. Even for multi-apartment residential buildings, when granting one-time support, it may not exceed 20 euros per square meter of the renovated area.
Support can be used both as a temporary solution to arrange and protect the building from destruction, and also to restore the previous condition. VARAM also emphasizes that measures to be carried out as part of the support should be aimed at liquidating the consequences of natural disasters.
