A Federal Police (PF) On the afternoon of Sunday 24th, he arrested militiaman Luís Antônio da Silva Braga, the most wanted in the State of Rio de Janeiro (RJ), according to the corporation. Known as Zinho, the criminal handed himself in to the police at the PF Regional Superintendence in RJ.
Zinho had been on the run since 2018, has 12 arrest warrants and worked in the west zone of the capital of RJ. The arrest took place after negotiations between the militiaman’s “patrons”, the PF and the State Security Secretariat.

The most wanted militia member in Rio de Janeiro was taken to the Legal Medical Institute and, after that, sent to the prison system.
In a statement, the state governor, Cláudio Castro (PL-RJ), stated that the arrest is a victory for the police, the security plan and society.

“The dismantling of these criminal groups with arrests, seizures and financial blockade and the arrest of this mafioso prove that we are on the right path”, highlighted Castro.
On social media, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Ricardo Cappelli, also congratulated the federal police for the arrest of the most wanted militia member in Rio de Janeiro. “Congratulations to the Federal Police! It’s work, work, work,” he wrote.
