Thiruvananthapuram: In Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram, a woman and her husband were found in custody for hanging their mother and child inside a house. The police suspect that the suicide was due to a dispute over alcohol and torture.
Sujith’s wife Saranya and two – and – a – half – year – old daughter Nakshatra were found dead inside their house at Cherunniyoor Kallumala hill near Varkala yesterday evening. When her husband Sujith went out and returned, he found the house locked and the bodies found in the bedroom. Relatives allege that her husband Sujith was responsible for the suicide.
Sujith, a private bus driver, had a quarrel at home over his regular drinking. The other day, Saranya was beaten up after a quarrel over being drunk at home without going to work. It is believed that Saranya committed suicide after killing the child while Sujith was leaving the house. Based on this, the police took Sujith into custody and questioned him.
