The suspect, in a distant family relationship with the victim, was staying at her home at the time of the events in the Les Rousses ski resort. “Originally from Val d’Oise, the man admitted to having stabbed the infant and his mother who came to defend him. “The investigations showed that, shortly before the attack, his mental state had deteriorated to such an extent that his landlady locked herself in her room every evening. On the day of the events, the aggressor forced the door of the room and stabbed the infant, seriously injuring him in the stomach”. “He then assaulted the mother who came to defend her young child,” continued the prosecutor.
The assailant known for drug use
The baby’s state of health is not yet consolidated, because he must undergo a new operation in the coming weeks, he said, adding that the child was likely to retain sequelae.
The alleged attacker, known for drug use, was initially placed in psychiatry. He was charged on Tuesday and remanded in custody. He will be subject to psychiatric monitoring in a remand center, the prosecution said.
