Sheeba (age 35) hails from Adimali, Idukki, Kerala. Sheeba and Valipar Arunkumar from Poojappura area next to Thiruvananthapuram got used to it through Facebook. The two, who had been talking on Facebook for months, later fell in love. After that the lovers often met and talked in solitude.
At this point Sheeba persuaded Arunkumar to marry her. It was then that Arunkumar came to know that Sheeba was married and had 2 children. Shocked, he avoided meeting Sheeba.
Angered by this, Sheeba invited Arunkumar to come to Adimali to negotiate. He also went to Adimali with friends yesterday. When Adimali left, Arunkumar and Sheeba met alone near the Iron Bridge. After a while the argument between the two ended.
Sheeba, enraged, suddenly took the hidden acid and threw it at Arunkumar. The acid burned on Arun Kumar’s face. Hearing the screams, the neighbors and his friends ran away. They rescued Arunkumar and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was admitted to the Trivandrum Government Hospital for further treatment after first aid.
The incident was reported to the Adimali police. Police are investigating Arunkumar. Arun Kumar told police that he had threatened to ask for money for refusing to have an affair with Sheeba and marriage, and that he had thrown acid on her for refusing to pay.
Following this, the police seized and examined the surveillance camera footage of the area where the incident took place. Later, a case was registered against Sheeba and she was arrested.
