Mother of the girl who fell in the iJump: “They prepared us for the worst”

Limor ben Mashiach, the mother of Talia, the 18-year-old young woman who fell from a height of eight meters at the iJump complex in Rishon Lezion, today (Monday) told here news about the condition of her daughter who has not yet regained consciousness. According to her, “She is vaguely conscious and most of the time she sleeps and it is good that she rests. We were prepared for the worst.”

Ben Mashiach was working on the Omega facility in the compound and fell after her harness became detached. Since the incident, which took place on Saturday, she has been hospitalized at Sheba Hospital in the neurosurgery department. She has not yet regained full consciousness, although she is breathing on her own.

In a conversation with Kan News, her mother said: “At the moment we still don’t know what’s going on, she’s unconscious and most of the time she’s asleep and it’s good that she’s resting. We’re with her, everyone is surrounding us and we’re hoping that a miracle will happen and she’ll come back to herself and continue her life. Prepare us for the worst , also for a rehabilitation process that can be long. She is still traumatized. She needs the peace and time for the blood to also be absorbed in the brain because there is bleeding.”

The police continue to investigate the incident and collected testimonies from the employees and the owners of the place, as well as records from the security cameras. Limor’s mother added that at this stage she is not busy looking for the culprits in what happened: “Obviously these thoughts arise, but I currently understand that the issue is under investigation, everything is documented, and I will let the police do their job. I currently prefer to concentrate on her recovery.”

“Until today, I didn’t understand how extreme this place is. I didn’t get to the bottom of what she was doing there and I hadn’t seen the place before. If I had known she was doing these things I might have stopped it, but she loved working there so much. She is stubborn and opinionated – I couldn’t convince her too much not to work there,” the mother added.

The compound itself has already returned to operation, but it seems to remain relatively deserted. From the room where Talia is hospitalized, mother Limor calls to the parents: “Take care of your children, go see where they work, what exactly they do, check that there are safety procedures in place and that your children are taken care of.”
