Shari Baloch is an MSc in Zoology, a teacher, married to a doctor and the mother of two children. Shari’s husband, Habitan Bashir Baloch, said he was shocked his wife had carried out such an attack but was proud of what she had done.

Shari joined the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) Majeed Brigade’s Special Suicide Squad two years ago. The BLA, which claimed responsibility for the blast, said in a statement that Shari was studying for an MPhil after passing MSc Zoology.
Four people, including three Chinese nationals, were killed in the suicide attack. The incident took place inside the Karachi University campus. Two Chinese nationals were also injured. Two of those killed were women.
