‌ ‍ An email in‍ which Penelope, ⁤the‌ mother of Pete Hegseth (pictured), who was nominated⁤ by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to be Secretary of Defense ‌in his second term, fiercely criticized her son in 2018 has been released. Penelope ⁣scolded her son, ‍saying, “You are a man who abuses women,” and ⁣“Take an honest look at yourself.” Locally, it is expected ⁣to have a‍ meaningful ⁢impact at the hearing as even the mother criticized the ⁤morality of Hegseth, who is controversial on⁢ charges of sexual assault.

According ⁢to⁣ an email released by the New York Times on the⁣ 29th of last month, Penelope said, “I tried to keep silent about your (son’s) character and behavior, but as ‍a woman and your mother, I must ‌say ⁣this,” and “I do not denigrate women.” I ⁣have no ⁣respect ⁢for men who lie, cheat, be ‌promiscuous, and use women for their own power ⁢and ego. “You are that kind of man,” he criticized directly. “As your mother, it⁤ pains me ‍and embarrasses me to say this, but it is the⁢ sad truth,” she said. “your actions and character ‍flaws have ruined us. ⁤“Get help and honestly look at yourself,” he wrote.

NYT reported, “The email in question was sent when Hegseth was in the⁢ midst of⁢ divorce proceedings with his‍ second wife, Samantha, in 2018.” He ⁢divorced his first wife due to extramarital affairs, and divorced his second wife after ‌it was⁤ revealed that ‍he had an extramarital child.Hegseth had an affair with Fox News executive producer Jennifer Lausche and fathered a child out of wedlock⁣ a month before Samantha filed for divorce.

‍‍ The ‍released ⁣email is presumed to have been written by Penelope,⁢ who heard the whole story at‌ the ⁣time of the lawsuit, to reprimand her son. Penelope asked, “Do you ⁣have any dignity‌ left in you?” “You might think I’m taking your daughter-in-law’s side, but that’s nonsense. “We are on ‍the side of good, that is not you,” he emphasized.

However, when the contents of ‌the email were reported, Penelope explained to the NYT, “I ⁣was very angry at⁤ the time and wrote it‍ with an emotional‌ mind,” and “none of it is true.” Afterwards,he said,“I immediately sent another⁣ email apologizing to my son, hegseth,” and defended‍ my ‌son as a “good father and husband.”

Even though the ⁤controversy over Hegseth’s nomination is growing, ‍President-elect Trump has made‍ it‌ clear‌ that‌ he supports ⁤Hegseth and has no intention of withdrawing his nomination. Stephen Chung,a spokesman for President-elect ⁣Trump, said,“It was despicable for the NYT to⁣ report the contents of the email⁢ without context,” and added,“Penelope
