Yanelis Pascual, mother of Wilmer Yunior Lestapier, the young Cuban who was stabbed in Santiago de Cuba, called on those responsible for the incident to surrender to the authorities.

It is worth mentioning that, so far, none of the attackers have been arrested by the police, as she herself confirmed in statements to journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.

Pascual thanked the case for disseminating it on social networks and asked for the collaboration of witnesses to identify the culprits.

“To see if that’s what they did or to see if anyone dares to go to the police and report what they saw, to see if they catch that little band that is causing quite a lot of havoc here in Santiago de Cuba, no. only with my son. Here I saw people arrive with a blow to the head, a machete blow, I have seen the havoc, the havoc that they are causing.”said.

Meanwhile, the mother denied rumors about her son’s death and stated that he is alive, although in serious condition.

“My son is alive. Thank God, my son is alive, that is what everyone who is saying would like, but my son is alive, Thank God.”he expressed.

Pascual specified that the young Cuban received four stab wounds, two of which damaged his kidney and one his liver.

However, he said that he has shown signs of improvement and that he is waiting for the next medical report. “I’m waiting for the one o’clock report, but it’s still reported as serious, but stable serious. At least he’s walking, he’s eating, and thank God he hasn’t developed any clinical signs.”he said.

The mother also regretted the level of violence experienced in the country and asked young people to stay away from these situations.

“The level of violence that exists here in this country is not easy, I just wish that the youth would calm down because violence is nothing”argument.

Certainly, cases like these occur with increasing frequency in different areas of the country, a reality that the authorities do not seem to care about at all.
