A motivational speaker was remanded for two days by the Kangar Court Complex in Perlis on October 3, 2026, following allegations of child sexual harassment.
The arrest and subsequent court appearance follow online disclosures from several female victims who accused the married speaker of grooming and inappropriate conduct. Perlis Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Hamzah Hashim confirmed that authorities received a formal report regarding the freelance speaker at 2:09 am on September 26.
Sexual Offences Conviction Carries Jail and Caning
Investigators are examining the case under Section 12 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

Under Section 12 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, a conviction carries a penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment and caning. Perlis police chief DCP Hamzah Hashim noted that if convicted, the offender can be jailed up to five years and may also be liable to caning.

The ministry’s directive affects independent speakers who conduct sessions with pupils in schools across the country. Fadhlina stated that she was aware of several allegations involving the speaker and had instructed the Education Ministry to obtain further information on the matter, noting that the claims were serious because they involved the safety and protection of pupils.

Online Allegations and Police Appeal for More Victims

According to reporting from other media outlets, social media posts alleged that the speaker had inappropriately touched pupils during programmes and engaged in paedophilic behaviour involving pupils who attended programmes conducted by the individual.

Police have urged additional individuals who had contact with the motivational speaker to step forward.
