A dead king, a king. A week after the expulsion of the CryptoData RNF Team from the championship by Dorna and the FIM, today it was presented in Milan, in an event broadcast on the Internet, el Trackhouse Racing Aprilia, the new satellite structure of the Noale factory that will be responsible for rescuing almost all the staff of the old team led by Razlan Razali.

Born in NASCAR, Trackhouse Racing is a team founded in 2020 by former North American pilot Justin Marks and singer Armando Christian Pérez, stage name ‘Pitbull’. After a successful debut in its national four-wheel championship – they finished runners-up in 2022 with Ross Chastain -, Trackhouse Racing was desperately looking for a place in the Motorcycle World Championship, preferably in MotoGP, and after the alleged financial problems that forced the abrupt departure of CryptoData RNF Team, Dorna and FIM have approved their application to operate the Aprilia satellite team.

The Trackhouse Racing Aprilia will have RS-GP tracks in its box, piloted by Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez. What is still not entirely clear is the type of material that the Iberian couple will enjoy; In Valencia, due to Miguel’s absence due to injury, Raúl was working with the 2023 version of the RS-GP, a prototype with which he ended up amazed as the Madrid native’s times showed, almost a second slower per lap compared to his previous motorcycle.

The medium-term objective at Aprilia is to grant its satellite team motorcycles of the current year, that is, from 2024but it is still to be defined if the Trackhouse Racing Aprilia budget is compatible and if, in Noale, they are capable of supplying two additional official motorcycles with all the effort that this entails.

For now, the team held a presentation event in Italy this Tuesday; The decoration chosen to carry out the event is provisional, and it will not be until after the Sepang test when we will see the final colors of the Aprilia satellite team. For today’s event, Trackhouse Racing has opted for a purely North American livery, with the colors of the stars and stripes flag decorating all the plastics, inspired by the Ducati with which Nicky Hayden competed in 2008.

Justin Marksfounder and owner of Trackhouse Racing, recognized that for them “Joining the MotoGP World Championship is a very exciting moment for our young company. Trackhouse has worked from day one to recognize the unique and attractive opportunities in motorsport and being able to expand into a global championship like MotoGP is a huge step in growth “We believe deeply in Dorna’s mission and are committed to bringing something new and exciting to the championship as we work hard to help grow and amplify this incredible sport to millions of new fans in North America and beyond.”

Carlos EzpeletaSports Director of Dorna Sports, has not missed the opportunity to approach a market as large as the North American one, lately somewhat alien to MotoGP due to the absence of national riders with winning potential: “We are very happy to welcome Trackhouse to MotoGP. We know that this new team fits perfectly into our sport: they have already shown that they know how to win and they arrive with a great personality. In the most competitive era that this sport has ever experienced, it is more vital than ever to have strong independent teams on the grid with solid projects. Trackhouse working with Aprilia, who will offer extensive support, is a really exciting prospect too. The RS-GP is a winning bike and the combination of the bike, the factory and Trackhouse’s approach with this team is super exciting for MotoGP fans around the world. We can’t wait to see Trackhouse race with us.”

Finally, a few words from Massimo RivolaCEO of Aprilia Racing, who has not hesitated to show his support for this project by traveling to Milan to witness the team’s presentation in person: “We are happy and proud to welcome Trackhouse to the Aprilia Racing family. What they have been able to build in a very short time in NASCAR is an extraordinary letter of introduction, which anticipates the potential of this partnership. This is thanks to Justin Marks and his team, whom I met through my old friend PJ Rashidi, and with whom we were immediately on the same page both in terms of technical ambitions and marketing and communication developments in such an important market as the US. Our commitment will increase significantly , a responsibility that we gladly assume because, I am sure, it will allow us to grow even more.
