by time news

The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) will launch this first weekend of september especially, a new campaign focused on motorcyclists in order to control compliance with the most important regulations that affect the driving of motorcycles, especially on the roads preferred by this type of driver.

And it is that the data registered until August 31 indicates that 174 motorcyclists have lost their lives in traffic accidents and, although the figure is much lower than that registered on the same dates in 2019 when 197 motorcycle users died, it should not be guard down.

Additionally, 53% of deceased motorcyclists did it on weekends, especially on conventional roads where 79 motorcycle users lost their lives on those holidays, 45% of the total. The data also reflects that on weekends more than half of the accidents with motorist victims (52.1%) are off the road, in which excessive or inappropriate speed is usually especially present.

For this reason, with the aim of trying to reduce the fatal motorcycle accidents that occur especially during those weekend trips, the agents of the Civil Guard Traffic Group will monitor compliance with the regulations by this types of drivers, in addition to disseminating the importance of respecting them.
